More About the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Hawaiʻi (RMHC-HI)
For over three decades, RMHC-HI has offered a loving home away from home to families needing to be near their seriously ill or injured children treated at Honolulu area hospitals. They offer the Judd Hillside House to families with children receiving outpatient treatments or those traveling with siblings of the patient, and the Oʻahu Avenue House to adult family members of children receiving in-patient care and neighbor island women experiencing “high-risk” pregnancies. The houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on their child’s health — not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal, or where they will lay their head at night to rest. RMHC-HI believes that the love and support of family are as beneficial as the most potent medicine a doctor can prescribe to a hospitalized child. RMHC-HI offers a safe and supportive home for families who bring a child to Oʻahu for medical treatment, reducing concerns and anxieties for families who are spending long hours at their child’s bedside.
